This project explores the impermanence of modern technologies and the limitations of what we consider “universal” and “accessible” today. Drawing from the historical example of cuneiform—once a pinnacle of communication, now largely indecipherable—it questions whether our current systems, such as language, UI/UX, and digital platforms, may also become incomprehensible over time. Through the method of defamiliarization, a familiar medium—a book—is transformed into an unreadable artifact that requires a decoding tool, symbolizing how future technologies might struggle to interpret present tools. By making the work inaccessible to all, it challenges assumptions about universality and invites reflection on the fragility of our current frameworks.
