Dongdaemun is perceived differently depending on the individual and the era. To some, Dongdaemun represents the DDP, while to others, it is defined by the struggles of activist Jeon Tae-il. By focusing on the uniqueness and historical significance of Dongdaemun, it buries a time capsule at its coordinates, connecting and remembering the past and the present. Within the flow of history, we may not realize it, but Dongdaemun is constantly changing even at this moment. This work was made for Seoul city campaign ‘2022 Seoul Art Station <Meeting Point - Present>’.
